OTH 2420C - Physical Rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy

Two hours lecture and three hours laboratory per week. Prerequisites: Admission into the program, satisfactory completion of:BSC 2086 , BSC 2086L , DEP 2004 , AMH 1010  or AMH 1020  or POS 1041  and OTH 1001C , OTH 1114C , OTH 1520C , OTH 1410 OTH 1012C OTH 1014C OTH 1856L , OTH 1857L  and Area IV  

Corequisites: OTH 2261C , OTH 2300C ,OTH 1858L , and OTH 2933C   This course is designed to enable the student to understand common physical disabilities in the adult population.  It will provide the student with an understanding   of occupational therapy practice models, the role of the COTA, evaluations, treatment planning, intervention strategies and documentation used in physical disabilities with the adult population.  The student will be able to apply occupational therapy interventions to address the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts and environments to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being and quality of life.
