REL 2300 - Introduction to World Religions

This course meets Area IV requirements for both the A.A./A.S. general education requirements. This course offers a study of the major religious traditions of the world, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism, by noting distinctive features and common elements. Students will be exposed to sacred writings (e.g. the Hebrew bible, the new testament, and Qur’an) as well as various theological doctrines and developments, art, and music, including selections from the western canon.
