Prerequisites: NUR 3805 or HSA 3111 , or permission of BSN program director.
Explores health information technologies and data analytics to improve safety and outcomes. Students evaluate source credibility, types of data, electronic health records, telehealth systems, leadership in technology adoption, and decision support tools while analyzing legal and ethical considerations. Emphasis is placed on utilizing informatics to improve patient safety and outcomes.
