NUR 1023C - Nursing Practice I (10 Credit Hours) (A.S.)
This course provides six hours of lecture, three hours of lab and nine hours of clinical experience per week. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Anatomy and Physiology I and II; Written Communication I; and any Area II A.A. Mathematics courses.
Corequisites: Concurrent enrollment in NUR 1023L . This course is designed to introduce the basic concepts within the three domains of Nursing: Individual, Nursing, and Healthcare. Emphasis is placed on the simple alterations in health and wellness as they pertain to the three domains. Concepts related to the Individual domain includes select topics of biophysical, psychosocial, and sexuality. The Nursing domain includes aspects distinct to beginning nursing practice and the nursing profession. The course introduces the student to the basic principles within the Healthcare environment. Additional special fee is required. Note(s): For nursing majors only.
