Students must have graduated and received an A.S. (or +A.A.S.) degree from an approved program of Fire Science Technology or have graduated with a related Associate in Science or Associate in Arts degree and be employed in the fire science field to be admitted into this advanced certificate program.

MAN 2021 - Principles of Management and Organization (3 Credit Hours)
MAN 2241 - Organizational Behavior (3 Credit Hours)
MAN 2300 - Management and Personnel (3 Credit Hours) OR
MNA 1345 - Management and Supervision (3 Credit Hours)

Choose one of the following courses:

FFP 2741 - Fire Service Course Design (3 Credit Hours) OR
FFP 1706 - Public Information Officer (3 Credit Hours) OR
FFP 2541 - Private Fire Protection Systems II (3 Credit Hours)

Note(s):

A grade of “C” or better must be attained for each course taken for this certificate. It also is recommended that job-seeking students complete SLS 1350 (1 credit).

This program is offered through SCF in conjunction with Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI) and Manatee Technical Institute (MTI). It will require that some or all classes be taken at one campus location. Contact the program director for specific details.

+Effective Fall 2013, no new students are being accepted into an A.A.S. degree program. Students currently enrolled will have two years (Summer 2015) to complete the A.A.S. specific requirements of the program. The only difference of the A.A.S. from the A.S. curriculum is that of one math course. See program for more details.
