Program Goal

This program prepares students to open, manage and market their own small business.  The program also prepares students to work as managers in a small to medium business.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Develop entrepreneurial concepts, resources, computer application skills, leadership/management skills, and personal assessment.
  • Describe effective business concepts, staffing functions, morale and motivation skills, human resources assessment, and business records management.
  • Analyze conflict management methods, basic economic concepts (including economic systems), cost-profit relationships, characteristics and functions of money, business risk, and legal considerations.
  • Identify and develop a business plan, controlling functions, and information acquisition systems by applying money management skills along with accounting and communications principles.
