MMC 2700 - Mass Media and Popular Culture

Prerequisites: concurrent registration in or completion of ENC 1101 with a grade of “C” or better.
The mass media play an increasingly important part in our lives today. They supply information and entertainment and communicate social attitudes both explicitly and implicitly. This course is a consideration of popular art forms (motion pictures, television, radio, print, music, advertising) as mirrors, transmitters and transformers of cultural values.
