PLA 2114 - Legal Research and Writing II

Prerequisites: PLA 1104 and PLA 1730.

This course is required of all paralegal/legal assisting program majors. This course meets the Gordon Rule requirements. This course is designed to perfect the research skills acquired in PLA 1104 and PLA 1730, including citation form. Emphasis is placed on developing facility in state and federal research and the drafting of memoranda and briefs. Computer-assisted legal research techniques using WestlawNext are examined. Ethical issues in legal research and writing are explored in depth.
