NSP 3295C - Perioperative Nursing

Prerequisites: Proof of RN licensure or license eligible; current CPR. By permission from the nursing department only.
This BSN elective course prepares the registered nurse for the role of the perioperative nurse in establishing and sustaining system equilibrium during the preoperative period. A minimum of two years work experience as a RN is recommended. This course teaches perioperative nurse practice in surgery and related departments. The course is a supervised clinical preceptorship of patient care during the preop, intraop, and postop care of the surgical patient. Additional special fees are required.
