NUR 3076 - Communication in Health Care

This course examines various communication patterns basic to individual and group relationships. Course emphasizes the development of interactive skills paramount to effective communication with individuals and groups involved with health care issues. It provides an opportunity for the validation of oral communication skills and experiences especially related to health care. Techniques of effective, therapeutic, and professional communication skills are emphasized. This course also focuses on providing students interprofessional and intraprofessional collaborative simulated clinical opportunities to work deliberatively for the common goal of building a safer and healthier patient-centered work environment.  Students who are making progress in their degree program may retake the course one time. Students who are making progress in their degree program may retake the course one time and are advised to consult their transfer university [if applicable] about the number of transferrable credits for this course.
